Form 1583 online notarization: providers compared

USPS lets a US-commissioned notary notarize Form 1583 over live video. The services below all charge about the same for one form; the differences are what a second form costs, which ID they take, and what happens if you have no SSN.

First: check your mailbox provider

USPS lets the mailbox company's own staff witness your signature over video, with no notary at all, and many virtual mailbox providers send you a link to a notary partner. Use that route first if you have it; it can decide which version of the form you get.12 Our step-by-step Form 1583 guide covers the form itself and the two IDs USPS requires.

Which one fits

  • One person, one form: any of the $25 services works; OnlineNotary.net is the lowest listed price if you're a US resident.
  • A couple (two forms): a session with one extra seal and one extra signer. With BlueNotary that's $25 + $8 + $5 = $38, by its published fees.6 Compare the other columns the same way.
  • No SSN or living abroad: ask your mailbox provider whether it offers Proof's Verification of Fact 1583; otherwise see online notarization without an SSN.

Frequently asked questions

Which online notary is cheapest for Form 1583?

For one form, OnlineNotary.net lists $19.95 per signer (US residents only); BlueNotary, Notarize, OneNotary, NotaryLive and NotaryCam list $25. For a second form in the same session, NotaryLive lists no extra charge for additional seals, BlueNotary $8, OneNotary $10 and Notarize $15.

Can I notarize Form 1583 online without an SSN?

Sometimes. Proof (Notarize's parent) offers a 'Verification of Fact' version of the 1583 that skips the credit-based quiz, but only when your virtual mailbox provider sets the transaction up that way. NotaryCam lists a $79 fee for signers without a US SSN.

Do my spouse and I need two forms?

Yes, for a personal mailbox: USPS requires a separate Form 1583 for each adult, so you'll pay for two notarizations or one session with extra seals and an extra signer.
